What ReLUnit replaces, and what it doesn't.
Most stores already have a search app, their platform's tools, and sometimes a PIM. Here's where ReLUnit fits.
Overview
Where ReLUnit fits in your stack.
| Tool you might have | What it does | How ReLUnit fits |
|---|---|---|
| A search app | Ranks the data you already have | Keep it, and we give it more to find. Or switch to ReLUnit Search. |
| Built-in platform tools | Define standard attributes and give you fields to fill | We fill those fields, using what we learn across your catalog. |
| A PIM | A governed place to store attributes | A PIM stores attributes. We produce them. |
| A bulk AI editor | Fills fields one product at a time | That's the easy half. Knowing what fits what takes the whole catalog. |
| An agency cleanup | A one-time fix | It fades with the next supplier feed. We re-check every month. |
vs bulk AI editors
One product at a time can't see the catalog.
Bulk AI editors write a field for each product on its own. That works for a description. It breaks for compatibility and shared values: the same model gets three spellings, and nothing links a bracket to the plate it needs. ReLUnit works across the catalog, so values match and products link to each other.
Choose ReLUnit when: shoppers ask what fits, what's needed, or what's right for them.
vs search apps
Search ranks your data. We give it something to rank.
Keyword, semantic or AI, every search engine ranks what's in your product records. If the records don't say what a product fits, no engine can find it. ReLUnit fills the records, and your current search reads them.
Use both: keep your search app and add ReLUnit data. Or try ReLUnit Search, which reads product links directly.
vs PIMs
A PIM stores attributes. We produce them.
A PIM gives your team one governed place to manage product data. It doesn't fill the gaps for you. ReLUnit finds and fills missing attributes, and the import-ready file can go into a PIM if you have one. For many catalogs with a few thousand products, the store platform's own fields are enough.
Use both: if you run a PIM, treat ReLUnit as the source of the missing values.
vs built-in platform tools
Your platform gives you the fields. We fill them.
Platforms like Shopify define standard category attributes and let you add custom fields. They don't fill them in for your catalog, and they work one product at a time. ReLUnit fills them across the whole catalog, in the fields your platform already reads.
Use both: the filled values map to the fields your platform already uses for search, filters and feeds.
vs agency cleanups
A cleanup is a snapshot. Catalogs keep changing.
An agency can clean up your data once. Then new products and supplier feeds bring the gaps back. ReLUnit re-checks your catalog every month and flags new gaps as they appear.
Choose ReLUnit when: you add or update products every month.
Who it's not for
ReLUnit isn't for every store.
Skip us if you have a few hundred products, a hand-curated single-brand catalog, or products people find by name. Your platform's built-in filters will do the job. Keep your money.
